Extra festival fun in Essex

Festival goers in Essex can look forward to even more fun next summer after Complete Licensing secured an additional event for established promoters near Chelmsford.
LDN Wild, based at Wheelers Farm in Little Waltham, had been granted a temporary licence for two events over the course of summer, but at a recent Chelmsford City Council licensing committee hearing, the events were given permanent ongoing status, with numbers increased from 3,000 to 5,000 people for each event. Even better, we secured temporary permission for an additional, 7,500-capacity event with a view to making that, too, a permanent fixture.
Complete Licensing have worked with LDN Wild on events at Wheelers Farm over a number of years, ensuring regulation compliance. However, after some issues over traffic management, the numbers at those events were cut back to 3,000 and the events given temporary status. We were able to show at the hearing that the organisers would comply with conditions including traffic management and parking, environmental health issues and other compliance matters including engagement with local residents.

Our mediation efforts and work with the local authority meant Essex Police raised no objections and all local residents bar one withdrew complaints. The licensing committee was happy that, under Complete Licensing’s guidance, all necessary conditions would be met and allowed the increase to 5,000 people for the existing events as well as giving the green light to the bigger third festival.
This was another success for Complete Licensing’s team of experienced experts in ensuring compliance and again proved the value of licensing negotiation.
