Helping The Schooner set sail

We at Complete Licensing love a bit of innovation and enterprise. We like to think it defines our approach to business – along with attention to detail and comprehensive preparation, of course. So when we had the chance recently to play our part in establishing an exciting new development in inner London, it was right down our street.

The Ram Quarter in Wandsworth has the potential to become South London’s biggest hospitality venture for a long time, with restaurants and bars, retail and lifestyle outlets, a cinema and residential elements being brought together to breathe new life into carefully restored artisan buildings and warehouses just south of the Thames and close to Wandsworth Town railway station.

For The Schooner Bar to become a favourite one in a quick time it was crucial that their licence was as well-prepared and comprehensive as possible

The Schooner Bar will be at the heart of this vibrant hub for busy Londoners seeking a one-stop destination where they can drink and dine, shop and spend leisure time. An impressive array of craft beers, wines and spirits is sure to make the Schooner a local favourite in quick time, but it was crucial that their licence was as well-prepared and comprehensive as possible.

The Schooner Bar

We were happy to work with the Schooner’s lawyers, Keystone Law, to prepare the application, which Wandsworth Council waved through without question. The potential added complication of working with the development landlord proved no complication – all their questions were answered and they were grateful for our expertise.

As ever, our work with the Schooner extends beyond the licence application and our ongoing compliance programme will leave them free to concentrate on running their business. The Covid-19 pandemic has meant a delay to the Ram Quarter’s full opening, but locals will soon be toasting their good fortune with a lovingly-crafted beer – or even a schooner of beer.
